Who is the Independent Alternative?

Vote RoderickE

Almost every U.S. presidential election comes down to the Republican GOP candidate, the Democrat candidate and some darkhorse third party or independent candidate. But who is the 2016 independent candidate? In past elections we had such candidates as; Ross Perot, Ron Paul, and Ralph Nader. In the 1992 election, Perot was able to take the debate stage with the Republican and Democrat candidate and even garnered 18% of the general election vote. (ref)

In the 2016 election cycle, another dynamic, outside the system candidate named Donald Trump is funding his own campaign much as Perot did. While Trump is running as a Republican, he initially refused to rule out running as an independent if he did not get the GOP nomination. He later signed a pledge that he would not run as a independent.

But the phenomenon continues where American voters say they are fed up with both parties, which have coalesced into much of the same policies despite the divisive sounding rhetoric. Many voters are counting on a political outsider like Trump or Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina, or Bernie Sanders to win the 2016 election. But what if both the GOP and the Democrat nominee are simply more of the establishment candidates from both parties. Is America ready to finally overcome the "don't waste your vote on an independent" fear?

What if in 2016 USA put the power of social media and the Internet Age to the test and actually circumvented the entire process. What if they ignored the 6 minute per candidate sound bites, ignored the personality contest debates, ignored the fear mongering that their vote will be wasted unless they vote for X or Y candidate, ignore that argument that the other party will win unless they support their guy (or gal).

I submit that I, Roderick Edwards am that independent candidate. I am the REAL outsider. I am the REAL average American running. I am not asking for ANY funding. I have not even registered with the Federal Elections Commission (since nothing in the Constitution says I must), since all they want to do is make me pay them money to play the game. If you are looking for the independent candidate in the 2016 presidential election; I Roderick Edwards am your candidate. Spread the word! Thanks
