PRAGER: The Left’s Moral Compass Isn’t Broken …

All of my life, I have said that the Left’s moral compass is broken.

And all of my life, I was wrong.

Why I was wrong explains both the Left and the moral crisis we are in better than almost any other explanation.

I was wrong because in order to have a broken moral compass, you need to have a moral compass to begin with. But the Left doesn’t have one.

This is not meant as an attack. It is a description of reality. The Left regularly acknowledges that it doesn’t think in terms of good and evil. Most of us are so used to thinking in those terms — what we call “Judeo-Christian” — that it is very difficult for us to divide the world in any other way.

But since Karl Marx, the Left (not liberalism; the two are different) has always divided the world, and, therefore, human actions, in ways other than good and evil. The Left, in Friedrich Nietzsche’s famous words, has always operated “beyond good and evil.”

It all began with Marx, who divided the world by economic class — worker and owner or exploited and exploiter. To Marx and to Marxism, there is no such thing as a good or an evil that transcends class. Good is defined as what is good for the working class; evil is what is bad for the working class.

Therefore, to Marxists, there is no such thing as a universal good or a universal evil. Those of us still in thrall to Judeo-Christian morality believe that good and evil are universal. In other words, whether an act is good or evil has nothing to do with who committed the act — rich or poor, male or female, religious or secular, member of one’s nation or of another nation. Stealing and murder are morally wrong, no matter who stole or who murdered.

That is not the case for Marx and the Left. In Marx’s words in “Capital” (“Das Kapital”):

“Right can never be higher than the economic structure of society and the cultural development thereby determined. We therefore reject every attempt to impose on us any moral dogma whatsoever as an eternal, ultimate and forever immutable moral law.”

Fifty-three years later, Marx’s foremost disciple, Vladimir Lenin, architect of the Russian Revolution, proclaimed:

“We say that our morality is entirely subordinated to the interests of the class struggle of the proletariat. … We do not believe in an eternal morality. … We repudiate all morality derived from non-human (i.e., God) and non-class concepts” (Address to the Third Congress of the Russian Young Communist League, Oct. 2, 1920).

As professor Wilfred Cantwell Smith, director of Harvard University’s Center for the Study of World Religions, wrote in 1957: “For Marxism there is no reason (literally no reason: our universe, the movement posits, is the kind of universe where there cannot conceivably be any reason) for not killing or torturing or exploiting a human person if his liquidation or torture or slave labor will advance the historical process.”

This is how Marx’s ideological heirs, today’s leftists, view the world — with one important difference: Morality is not determined only by class, but by race, power and sex as well.

RACE

It is left-wing dogma that a black person cannot be a racist. Only whites can be racist. And, indeed, all whites are racist.

It is increasingly a left-wing position that when blacks loot, they are only taking what they deserve, or, as the looters often put it, looted goods are “reparations.” A Black Lives Matter organizer in Chicago, Ariel Atkins, recently put it this way:

“I don’t care if somebody decides to loot a Gucci or a Macy’s or a Nike store because that makes sure that person eats. That makes sure that person has clothes. That is reparations. Anything they want to take, take it because these businesses have insurance” (Chicago Tribune, Aug. 17, 2020).

POWER

Another nonmoral left-wing compass concerns power. Just as right and wrong are determined by class (worker and owner/rich and poor) and race (white and people of color), good and evil are also determined by power (the strong and the weak).

That explains much of the Left’s hatred for two countries in particular — America and Israel. America is wrong when it does almost anything in the world that involves weaker countries — assassinates the most important Iranian terrorist, builds a wall between itself and Mexico, opposes unlimited immigration. It is wrong because it is much stronger than those other countries.

The Left’s antipathy to Israel derives from both the power compass and the race compass. Because Israel is so much stronger than the Palestinians and because Israelis are classified as white (despite the fact that more than half of all Israelis are not white), the Left deems Israel wrong. So, when Israel justifiably attacks Gaza for raining rockets over Israel, the world’s Left vehemently attacks Israel — because it is so much stronger than the people of Gaza and because whites have attacked people of color.

SEX

When a woman accuses a man of sexually harassing or raping her, the Left’s reaction is not, “Let us try to determine the truth as best we can.” It is, “Believe women.” One must automatically “believe women” because, on the Left, it is not only morality that doesn’t transcend race, power, class or sex; truth doesn’t either. That’s why leftists protest and riot whenever a confrontation between a police officer and a black person ends with the death of an unarmed black person. The police officer is automatically racist, and the death is automatically deemed murder. On the Left, the concept of objective truth is increasingly deemed a form of white supremacy.

So, then, it turns out I was mistaken all my life. The Left’s moral compass is not broken. The Left simply rejects such a compass.

‘You Killed RBG’: Leftists Attack Couple Who Had Supreme Court Justice Officiate Their August Wedding

A woman who had Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg officiate her wedding just weeks ago has been forced to make her Twitter account private after leftist trolls accused her of “killing” the late judicial powerhouse.

Barb Solish, of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, was reportedly a family friend of Ginsburg, who, despite suffering from late-stage pancreatic cancer, presided over her wedding to Danny Kazin, an associate with the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

Ginsburg was pictured without a mask on, People Magazine reports, in photos that the bride posted to Twitter in early September, but an official account of the wedding notes that both Solish and her then-fiance Kazin, had been tested for COVID-19 before the ceremony and both had tested “negative,” making it safe for the ailing Justice to attend their nuptials.

Those assurances weren’t enough for the Twitter crowd who, incensed by the Justice’s death just weeks before the 2020 presidential election, lashed out at Solish on Twitter, accusing her of “killing” Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

TFW you killed RBG to show off at your wedding…,” one Twitter user claimed, tagging Solish.

“[I]magine everyone knowing you killed RBG at your wedding,” raged another.

“i think it’s funny that the lady who had rbg officiate her wedding without a mask has to now deal with potentially having killed one of the most beloved people in the entire US because she just had to have her wedding officiated by rgb so she could do an epic tweet lol,” blasted another.

Others pointed out Solish’s Twitter post with official photos of her wedding ceremony: “this post will rightfully be dunked on all night, and in perpetuity,” they claimed.

Some pledged to take Solish and Kazin to account for their misdeeds.

Solish was forced to take her profile private shortly after the Supreme Court announced that Ginsburg has passed away Friday from complications from pancreatic cancer.

Ginsburg, of course, was an 87-year-old woman still serving on the nation’s highest court, so she was clearly able, by all accounts, to make an informed decision on whether to officiate the couple’s wedding, even in fragile health. She was reportedly a fan of the practice of officiating weddings, taking part in several over the last few years, including one of the first official same-sex marriages following the court’s landmark Obergfell decision legalizing same-sex unions nationwide.

By the time Solish and Kazin wed in late August, Ginsburg was already being open about her cancer’s return. In a frank statement released July 17th, Ginsburg admitted that her pancreatic cancer had returned and assured well-wishers that she was undergoing treatment.

“My most recent scan on July 7 indicated significant reduction of the liver lesions and no new disease. I am tolerating chemotherapy well and am encouraged by the success of my current treatment,” Ginsburg said. “I will continue bi-weekly chemotherapy to keep my cancer at bay, and am able to maintain an active daily routine.”

“According to her doctors, stent revisions are common occurrences and the procedure, performed using endoscopy and medical imaging guidance, was done to minimize the risk of future infection,” the Supreme Court added in their own statement. “The Justice is resting comfortably and expects to be released from the hospital by the end of the week.”

Ginsburg passed on Friday, per the Supreme Court.

Facebook Censors Ad About Joe Biden Allowing Men To Participate In Women’s Sports, PolitiFact Says It Can’t Fact Check Future

This week, Facebook censored several ads from right-leaning organizations over faulty and misleading fact checks. In one example, however, a fact checker went beyond labeling an ad misleading and suggested it contained “a prediction we can’t fact-check.”

The ad was from the American Principles Project PAC, which spent $4 million on a campaign featuring an ad alleging incumbent Sen. Gary Peters (D-MI) and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden would “destroy women’s sports” if they were elected. The ad centered around the so-called Equality Act, which among other things would allow biological men to compete in women’s sports. This, the ad said, would take away from female athletes “a fair shot at competition, at a scholarship, at a title, at victory.”

There is ample evidence for such concern, rooted in biology. Women simply can’t compete against men in sports, hence the need for separate women’s sports leagues. The Daily Wire has reported on numerous examples of biological men identifying as women excelling in women’s sports, such as the MMA fighter who fractured the skull of a biologically female opponent. Or the trans athlete who won the women’s world cycling competition for the second year in a row. Such disparities have led to a lawsuit in Connecticut filed by three high school female athletes who have lost opportunities due to trans women competing against them.

“Selina Soule, Alanna Smith, and Chelsea Mitchell, represented by Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), were denied opportunities to compete at higher levels as boys took home the prizes,” The Daily Wire previously reported. “CIAC’s policy allowed two males to compete in girls’ athletic competitions beginning in the 2017 track season. Those boys have taken 15 women’s state championship titles (titles held in 2016 by nine different Connecticut girls) and have taken more than 85 opportunities to participate in higher level competitions from female track athletes in the 2017, 2018, and 2019 seasons alone.”

Yet left-wing fact-checker PolitiFact deemed the ad to be “missing context” and attempting to “mislead people.”

As Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Center wrote, the “‘missing context’ PolitiFact thought the ad should include was opinions in favor of the transgender push to destroy women’s sports.”

“Evidently, they think all conservative candidates should give their opponents airtime in ads they pay for within 60 days of the election. And it seems they thought the ad might ‘mislead people’ to vote for candidates who oppose the radical Equality Act,” Perkins continued.

PolitiFact found no actual errors in the ad but admitted the ad’s “specific criticism is … a prediction we can’t fact-check.”

Every political ad should come with these labels if PolitiFact maintained this standard. Yet Facebook eventually banned the ad after first appending fact-check labels to it.

This isn’t the first ad to receive dubious fact-check warnings on Facebook this week. As The Daily Wire’s John Bickley reported, an ad explaining that Biden would raise taxes “on all income groups” received a “mostly false” rating from PolitiFact despite the outlet acknowledging the claim was, in fact, true.

Biden actually said, “If you elect me, your taxes are going to be raised, not cut,” and said his plan would affect “all income groups.”

PolitiFact acknowledged that “some tax experts estimate that Biden’s plan would mean higher taxes on average for all income groups,” yet still gave it a “mostly false” rating because the ad didn’t give enough “context” to Biden’s claim. The “context,” PolitiFact wanted was for the ad to say that Biden’s tax hikes would affect high-earners far more than others. Another tax-focused ad from America First — which published the Biden tax ad — was also censored.

45 Days Until Election: Three Supreme Court Justices, Including Ginsburg, Were Confirmed In Less Time

After Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s death on Friday, questions swirled about whether President Donald Trump would nominate or be able to push through a nominee before the election in 45 days.

As The Federalist’s Sean Davis pointed out, however, it is entirely possible to get a Supreme Court nominee in fewer than 45 days. The question remains, however, whether or not a nominee should be pushed through so close to an election.

Three Supreme Court Justices, including Ginsburg herself, took fewer than 45 days to be confirmed by the Senate. As Davis pointed out, Ginsburg’s nomination was sent to the Senate by then-President Bill Clinton on June 22, 1993. Her confirmation hearing began a month later on July 20, and she was confirmed on August 3. “The entire process took 42 days,” Davis tweeted.

In addition to Ginsburg, two other Supreme Court Justices were confirmed in under 45 days, Davis noted.

“The time between the formal Supreme Court nomination of Sandra Day O’Connor and her final Senate confirmation was 33 days. (Aug. 19-Sep. 21, 1981). For John Paul Stevens, the formal process took only 19 days (Nov. 28-Dec. 17, 1975),” Davis tweeted. “There are 46 days until the election.”

None of these nominations occurred in the days directly before an election, however, leading to questions regarding whether Trump should nominate anyone. Democrats were quick to use Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s (R-KY) 2016 words against him without providing the context in which the quote was made.

“The American people should have a voice in the selection of their next Supreme Court Justice. Therefore, this vacancy should not be filled until we have a new president,” McConnell said after Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia died in early 2016.

In 2016, however, the presidency was up for grabs, as President Barack Obama was finishing up his second term. A new president would enter office no matter what happened during the election. Obama was also hampered by the fact that Republicans became the majority in the Senate in 2014, in part by running on the judiciary. Republicans now control the White House and the Senate, meaning there is no conflict between the two institutions, as there was in 2016 when Democrats controlled the White House but Republicans controlled the Senate.

After Ginsburg’s death on Friday, McConnell released a statement explaining this difference.

“In the last midterm election before Justice Scalia’s death in 2016, Americans elected a Republican Senate majority because we pledged to check and balance the last days of a lame-duck president’s second term. We kept our promise. Since the 1880s, no Senate has confirmed an opposite party president’s Supreme Court nominee in a presidential election year,” McConnell said.

“By contrast, Americans reelected our majority in 2016 and expanded it in 2018 because we pledged to work with President Trump and support his agenda, particularly his outstanding appointments to the federal judiciary. Once again, we will keep our promises,” McConnell added. “President Trump’s nominee will receive a vote on the floor of the United States Senate.”

On Saturday morning, Trump appeared to agree with McConnel, tweeting: “We were put in this position of power and importance to make decisions for the people who so proudly elected us, the most important of which has long been considered to be the selection of United States Supreme Court Justices. We have this obligation, without delay!”

GRAHAM: Brian Stelter Flunks At Defending CNN

CNN host Brian Stelter has a slimy new book out called “Hoax” in which he attacks Fox News and President Donald Trump with a lot of anonymously sourced hit quotes. My favorite stop on his book tour has to be an appearance during the closing minutes of ABC’s “The View” on Sept. 16.

Stelter’s obsequious inquirers such as NPR’s Terry Gross and PBS’ Judy Woodruff never pressed him on whether CNN manipulated politicians behind the scenes and lied about it. What made his appearance on “The View” great was how several co-hosts turned the microscope back on CNN.

Meghan McCain turned right to the ethical questions being asked about CNN lately, most prominently by Tucker Carlson on Fox. Turnabout is fair play. Carlson played audio in which CNN President Jeff Zucker appeared to offer debate advice to Trump in 2016 and talk about offering Trump his own program. Jake Tapper was exposed for allegedly lying about trying to urge his Republican acquaintance Sean Parnell to run for Congress in a “safer R district” instead of Pennsylvania Rep. Conor Lamb’s vulnerable seat.

McCain really drew blood discussing the unprofessional comedy between Chris Cuomo and his brother, Gov. Andrew Cuomo: “I had serious problems with the way Chris Cuomo had a recurring prime-time, sort of comic routine with his brother instead of asking about policies that were literally sending my friend Janice Dean’s older relatives to die in nursing homes. So, with the criticism of CNN, do you believe that this is acceptable?”

Stelter didn’t answer the question honestly. It’s tough to be forced on the defense, especially when you play the Media Ethics Police on “Reliable Sources” every Sunday morning. Instead, Stelter first complained these tapes “are cherry-picked.” Everything that airs on the news is “cherry-picked.”

Then he turned to leaker conspiracy theories: “You know, Michael Cohen says these audiotapes were only held by Trump, the Trump Organization and the DOJ. So, all of a sudden, they’re airing on Fox News. You have to wonder if it’s another example of this feedback loop that exists between Trump and Fox.”

Michael Cohen is a convicted liar, so he’s probably not your most, ahem, reliable source.

By then, Stelter was flailing: “I’m not a spokesperson for CNN. You know, it’s not for me to comment on these tapes. Here’s what I do think is sad, though. I think it’s sad that private conversations get leaked out, get distorted and then, you know, they become polarized and weaponized.”

If you’ve turned pages of Stelter’s book, you know that comment is simply obscene. The book is nastily “cherry-picked,” with recounts of leaked private conversations that are “weaponized.” The book is filled with tawdry little claims, such as that Rupert Murdoch’s wife Jerry Hall calls Trump a “pig.” Unlike Carlson’s revelations, most of this gossipy material isn’t backed by recordings.

Stelter wasn’t done being preposterous. ABC’s Sara Haines asked if CNN is guilty of blurring news and opinion, which she said contributes to “the misinformation and extreme divisiveness” of politics today.

He agreed but claimed, “I talk about it with my staff at ‘Reliable Sources,’ and I always want to make sure that I’m not part of that problem.” What? Anyone who has watched this show knows Extreme Divisiveness is routine, starting with his opening, during which he snarls anti-Trump commentaries. One of his guests said Trump’s policies would kill more people than Hitler, Stalin and Mao combined. Stelter pushback: Zero.

Beyond lamely claiming CNN is standing up for decency and democracy, Stelter can’t defend CNN for blurring opinion into the “news” product and providing an assembly line of acidulous anti-Trump segments day after day. He can’t claim CNN isn’t trying to manipulate and coach newsmakers behind the scenes. He’s not allowed to scorn the brotherly softball treatment on “Cuomo Prime Time.” He clearly wasn’t prepared for this test, and he flunked.

Trump Tweets Support For Confirming New Supreme Court Justice Before Election

President Donald Trump set off a firestorm Saturday morning after tweeting his support for confirming a new Supreme Court Justice before the election on November 3 following Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s death Friday night.

In a tweet regarding the GOP, Trump said: “We were put in this position of power and importance to make decisions for the people who so proudly elected us, the most important of which has long been considered to be the selection of United States Supreme Court Justices. We have this obligation, without delay!”

Ginsburg died due to complications from metastatic pancreatic cancer late Friday evening, prompting questions about whether Trump would name her successor prior to the election. Trump’s tweet appears to confirm that he will.

ERICKSON: Peace In The Middle East

I have noted before that I grew up in Dubai, one of the United Arab Emirates. From 1980-1990, my family lived in an ungated community in the middle of the city down the street from the Iranian Hospital with the Jumeirah American School just one long block up the road. We walked to school every day.

The school changed its name to the American School of Dubai the year after I graduated. It moved locations. The current school at the old location is the Jumeirah Baccalaureate School. My old house is all that remains of my neighborhood. The whole place got leveled and rebuilt, except my house on the corner at 27 Sheikh Rashid Villas, which is now No. 39 on 32b Street, Dubai, UAE. The only reason my house remained is because it became a doctor’s office some time after we moved home in the run up to the first Gulf War.

Growing up, our history and geography textbooks all had pages missing or redacted. Anything that referenced Israel got taken out by censors. Maps of the Eastern Mediterranean had Israel either relabeled as Palestine or simply scribbled out with black Sharpie.

In ninth grade, my class went to Greece. At the base of the Acropolis is the Athens Agora. I remember a bunch of flags and our teacher pointing one out that was white with blue stripes and a blue star. None of knew it was the Israeli flag. That flag had either been cut out or redacted from our textbooks. The World Book Encyclopedia and Encyclopedia Britannica had pages misses and redacted in the library. Phone calls could not connect from Israel to the UAE. It was as if there were no phone lines between the two. We could not travel to Israel, and I have still never been to Israel. We could not reenter the UAE with an Israeli stamp in our passports.

It is of monumental importance that the UAE and Israel now are extending diplomatic relations to each other, recognizing each other, engaging in commerce with each other, and letting information and phone calls flow between the nations. Bahrain and Oman were similarly situated; Bahrain has also recognized Israel, and Oman will, too.

This is a huge win for the Trump administration. There is a credible argument that the nations were induced into acting together because they fear the United States will not help them in a skirmish with Iran. But the Trump administration did play a role in brokering this deal, and the president does deserve credit.

Barack Obama received the peace prize merely for showing up; President Donald Trump has exceeded that standard here. And, yes, Obama got the Nobel Peace Prize merely for showing up.

On Tuesday, after the historic meeting of the nations at the White House, most of the American media downplayed it. The websites at CNN, The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times and USA Today either did not mention the summit or minimized it. Reporters and pundits claimed that because Israel, Bahrain and the UAE had never been in a physical war, it was really no big deal.

The American media’s response shows an ignorance of how Arab nations have treated Israel, including redacting Israel from textbooks, barring travel between the nations, refusing aviation flyovers and blocking telecommunications channels. It reveals that many of those who cover the news and pontificate on it have not lived lives with much exposure to the real world.

Remember, the talking heads claimed moving the U.S. Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem would spark a war. Various pundits and most experts claimed as much, including former Secretary of State John F. Kerry. On MSNBC, the loud voices opposed to Trump said Trump moving the embassy would get a lot of people killed and undermine peace in the Middle East. They were wrong and now claim there was always peace.

This is an enormous deal, and Trump and Jared Kushner do both deserve some credit — credit much of the media would prefer they not have, so they will ignore the story.

WILLIAMS: The Devil And Karl Marx

Paul Kengor is a professor of political science at Grove City College in Grove City, Pennsylvania. He has just published “The Devil and Karl Marx,” a careful look at the diabolical side of Karl Marx. The book has come out during an important time in our history since so many Americans, particularly our youth, have fallen for the seductive siren song of socialism taught to them by the academic elite.

“The Black Book of Communism,” edited by Stephane Courtois details the Marxist-Leninist death toll in the 20th century. Here is the breakdown: USSR, 20 million deaths; China, 65 million; Vietnam, 1 million; North Korea and Cambodia, 2 million each; Eastern Europe, 1 million; and about 3.5 million in Latin America, Africa and Afghanistan. These figures understate those detailed by Professor R.J. Rummel in “Death by Government.” He finds that from 1917 until its collapse, the Soviet Union murdered or caused the death of 61 million people, mostly its own citizens. From 1949 to 1976, Communist China’s Mao Zedong regime was responsible for the death of as many as 78 million of its own citizens.

The world’s intellectual elite readily focus on Adolph Hitler’s murderous atrocities but ignore those of the world’s socialists. Mao Zedong has been long admired by academics and leftists across our country. They often marched around singing his praises and waving his little red book, “Quotations from Chairman Mao Tse-tung.” President Barack Obama’s communications director, Anita Dunn, in her June 2009 commencement address to St. Andrews Episcopal High School at Washington National Cathedral, said Mao was one of her heroes.

Whether it’s the academic community, the media elite, stalwarts of the Democratic Party or organizations such as the NAACP, the National Council of La Raza, Green for All, the Sierra Club and the Children’s Defense Fund, there is a great tolerance for the ideas of socialism — a system that has caused more deaths and human misery than all other systems combined. Today’s leftists, socialists and progressives would bristle at the suggestion that their agenda differs little from those of Nazi, Soviet and Maoist mass murderers. Keep in mind that one does not have to be in favor of death camps or wars of conquest to be a tyrant. The only requirement is that one must believe in the primacy of the state over individual rights.

Kengor highlights another feature of Marx ignored by his followers. This feature of Marxism should be disturbing to Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors, who said that she and her fellow organizers are “trained Marxists.” I wonder whether she shares Marx’s views on race. Marx’s son-in-law, Paul Lafargue, was viewed as having Negro blood in his veins. Marx denigrated him as “Negillo” and “The Gorilla.”

Marx had similar hate for Jews. He referred to his fellow socialist labor organizer Ferdinand Lasalle as a “greasy Jew,” “the little kike,” “water polack jew” and “Jewish n——r.” In 1844, Marx wrote an essay titled “The Jewish Question” in which he asks, “What is the worldly cult of the Jew?” His answer: “Haggling. What is his worldly god? Money.”

Down through the years, leftists made a moral equivalency between communist/socialist totalitarianism and democracy. W. E. B. Du Bois, writing in the National Guardian (1953) said, “Joseph Stalin was a great man; few other men of the 20th century approach his stature.” Walter Duranty called Stalin “the greatest living statesman … a quiet, unobtrusive man.” George Bernard Shaw expressed admiration for Mussolini, Hitler and Stalin. Economist John Kenneth Galbraith visited Mao’s China and praised Mao Zedong and the Chinese economic system. Michel Oksenberg, President Jimmy Carter’s China expert, complained that “America is doomed to decay until radical, even revolutionary, change fundamentally alters the institutions and values,” and urged us to “borrow ideas and solutions” from China.

Kengor does a yeoman’s job of highlighting the evils of Marxism. The question is whether Americans will heed his lesson or fall prey to the false promises and live the horrors of socialism. By the way, while Sweden and Denmark have a large welfare system, they have market economies — not socialist economies, as some leftists claim.

KLAVAN: ‘Cuties’ — When Good Artists Do Wrong

On my podcast, I have a running gag about the conspiracy theory known as “Klavanon.” Klavanon is not whatever stupid conspiracy theory is currently making the rounds, it’s the truth on which the outlandish theory is based.

Obviously, Klavanon is a play on the absurd ideas that go by the name of QAnon. According to Wikipedia, “QAnon is a far-right conspiracy theory alleging that a cabal of Satan-worshiping pedophiles running a global child sex-trafficking ring is plotting against President Donald Trump… No part of the theory is based on fact.”

Hold on there, Spunky. NO part is based on fact?

Yes, QAnon is an outrageous online fairy tale that does not in any way describe reality. But to say that no part of it is based on fact misses… well, it misses Klavanon: the truth behind the lunacy.

To wit. Widespread child abuse in the Catholic church, often accompanied by Satanic desecrations, and covered up by conspiracy. Widespread accusations of child abuse in Hollywood—accusations that surface every so often only to mysteriously disappear even while convicted and plausibly suspected abusers are hired to work on major films. Jeffrey Epstein’s virtual enslavement of underage girls, and his allegedly deep ties to powerful people including former president Bill Clinton and England’s Prince Andrew. ABC News, run by former Clinton hack George Stephanopoulos, spiking the Epstein story during Hillary Clinton’s presidential run. Epstein’s death in prison when all the guards happened to be gone and all the security cameras happened to stop working…

The sexual abuse of underage boys and girls by the rich, famous, and powerful, and the conspiratorial cover-up of that abuse is epidemic. The attempt to normalize child abuse is plain in movies like “The Reader” and “American Beauty,” in articles like Pedophilia: A Disorder, Not a Crime in The New York Times, in Hollywood’s defense of child-rapist Roman Polanski, and elsewhere.

Which brings me to “Cuties,” a French film now streaming on Netflix. “Cuties” tells the story of an 11-year-old Sengalese-French girl. Trying to break away from an oppressively patriarchal Islamic home, she seeks freedom with other little girls who imitate their elders by dancing suggestively. The film has repeated scenes of the children grinding and twerking, with the camera zooming in on body parts.

The director, Maïmouna Doucouré, herself a Sengalese Frenchwoman, says her intention was not pornographic, but feminist. “I wanted to open people’s eyes to what’s truly happening in schools and on social media, forcing them to confront images of young girls made up, dressed up and dancing suggestively to imitate their favorite pop icon.”

I believe this was her intent. The film is clearly dramatizing what French novelist Michel Houellebecq records in novels like “Submission”: With Christianity dead, there is nothing for the French to choose from but the oppressive patriarchy of Islam and the hyper-sexuality of the materialist west.

Doucoure has the right and even the obligation to tell her story. But artists are not exempt from moral law. The film is not an evil film, but it commits an evil act. It abuses its young actresses and includes content that is pedophiliac. As I said on my show—and as The Babylon Bee then wrote as satire—if she had killed a dog onscreen to portray cruelty to animals, everyone would have objected.

Instead, when she merely sexually abused children, and risked exciting those who would abuse them, the materialist Left rushed to her defense. One idiot in Slate decried moral objections to the film as a “creepy conservative obsession.”

Because leftism is at heart a materialist creed, it sees sex as the central expression of our human individuality. Coming into the full expression of your desires, no matter how perverse or deluded, is, for the Left, the essence of what Jung called individuation. That you might have an immoral desire and suppress it to reach full humanity is an idea the Left accepts only reluctantly.

But the abuse of children is not just a violation of consent—because a child isn’t wise enough to consent to something as deeply affecting as sex—it is an abuse of power and a perversion of the spirit that often perverts the spirit it abuses. It is a sin in every sense of that word and should remain a crime.

An artist has a right to portray the sin, but not to commit it. And visual artists, like filmmakers, are especially vulnerable in that regard.

Conservatives can be prissy and prudish about the arts—which, after all, have always been delightfully full of sex and violence and delicious sin-by-proxy. But to turn a blind eye to the sin of child abuse, even when unintentionally committed by a well-meaning artist, is to travel even further down the dark road into evil that is materialist leftism.

Report: McConnell Writes Letter To GOP Senators About SCOTUS Stances, Says ‘Keep Your Powder Dry’

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) reportedly told Republican senators in a letter Friday evening to hold off on giving definitive answers to the media about how to handle the Supreme Court vacancy left by the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, particularly if they don’t know how to answer or are leaning toward not holding a vote.

“Over the coming days, we are all going to come under tremendous pressure from the press to announce how we will handle the coming nomination,” said McConnell in a letter purportedly obtained by The Washington Post. “For those of you who are unsure how to answer, or for those inclined to oppose giving a nominee a vote, I urge you all to keep your powder dry. This is not the time to prematurely lock yourselves into a position you may regret later.”

“Again, I urge you all to be cautious and keep your powder dry until we return to Washington,” he concluded later in the letter, reports the Post.

Although McConnell released a statement vowing to fill the vacancy left by Ginsburg with a nominee from President Donald Trump, he declined to provide a timeline for it.

However, McConnell strongly suggested that such a nomination would come in Trump’s first term, in that he outlined the differences between waiting to fill the Supreme Court vacancy in 2016 and filling a vacancy under the current Senate in his public statement on Friday evening.

“In the last midterm election before Justice Scalia’s death in 2016, Americans elected a Republican Senate majority because we pledged to check and balance the last days of a lame-duck president’s second term. We kept our promise. Since the 1880s, no Senate has confirmed an opposite party president’s Supreme Court nominee in a presidential election year,” said McConnell.

“By contrast, Americans reelected our majority in 2016 and expanded it in 2018 because we pledged to work with President Trump and support his agenda, particularly his outstanding appointments to the federal judiciary. Once again, we will keep our promises,” added McConnell, concluding: “President Trump’s nominee will receive a vote on the floor of the United States Senate.”

In statements honoring Ginsburg’s life on Friday evening, many Republican senators have declined to bring up the topic of filling court vacancies. However, Senators Martha McSally (R-AZ) and Kelly Loeffler (R-GA) have explicitly voiced support for the idea.

“This U.S. Senate should vote on President Trump’s next nominee for the U.S. Supreme Court,” tweeted McSally, who earlier in the evening said Ginsburg “broke barriers” in her life and said that her prayers were with the late justice’s family.

Suspect Arrested After Decapitating Jesus Statue Because It Was ‘The Wrong Color’

A suspect in El Paso, Texas, was arrested after allegedly desecrating a nearly century-old statue of Jesus that was decapitated in the latest spate of vandalism against churches in the United States.

While being questioned, 30-year-old suspect Isaiah Cantrell told police that he went into the church to repent but later realized that the church’s statue of Jesus was the wrong color, according to a local ABC affiliate. He told the officer that Jesus was Jewish, so the statue should have a darker skin color, the affidavit stated. He denied destroying the statue, saying it fell on its own.

Cantrell was charged with criminal mischief and possession of marijuana before being booked at El Paso County Detention facility under $20,500 in bond.

“I am in shock and we at the Cathedral are heartbroken over such an unexpected situation,” Father Trini Fuentes, the rector of St. Patrick, said on Tuesday.

“I am devastated at this irreplaceable loss as I know members of this parish community and the whole Church of El Paso will be. In this moment we will reach out in confidence to the One this statue represented and I know he will console us,” Bishop Mark J. Seitz added.

“This statue is one of my favorite representations of Jesus—his arms open wide in welcome, his heart aflame with love for us. I would often take inspiration from this image as I prepared for Mass,” Seitz continued.

Speaking before Cantrell was apprehended, Seitz said, “At this point we do not know anything about the person who carried out this assault, but he certainly must be a person who is greatly disturbed to have attacked this peaceful place in our city and this image of the King of Peace. I hope this might be the impetus for him to receive the help he needs. He will be in my prayers.”

“As sad as I am to see a statue attacked and destroyed, I am grateful that it was not a living person,” Seitz said. “But a statue, particularly this statue, concretizes and connects us to persons and ideals that are not visible to our eyes. They reveal to us realities that are close to us, but unseen.”

The church’s statement on Instagram reads:

We are saddened to announce the vandalism at St. Patrick Cathedral earlier today.

The Cathedral was vandalized this morning at around 10:00am. A suspect came into the sanctuary at St. Patrick Cathedral and destroyed the almost 90-year-old statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which was located in the center behind the main altar of the church. The church was open and available for prayer.

A suspect has been detained by the El Paso Police department. The police are currently continuing their investigation into the vandalism.

The Rector of St. Patrick Cathedral, Fr. Trini Fuentes, said, “I am in shock and we at the Cathedral are heartbroken over such an unexpected situation.”

Bishop Seitz also expressed his sadness about the damage caused to the historic Sacred Heart of Jesus Statue.

Trump Gives Classy Statement On Ginsburg’s Passing, Avoids Politics Unlike Top Democrats

President Donald Trump made classy remarks about Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on Friday evening upon hearing about her death and avoided talking about politics — unlike many top Democrats.

Following his rally, Trump spoke to reporters as Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer” played in the background.

“She just died? Wow,” Trump said. “I didn’t know that. You’re telling me now for the first time. She led an amazing life. What else can you say?”

“She was an amazing woman. Whether you agreed or not, she was an amazing woman who led an amazing life,” Trump continued. “I’m saddened to hear that.”

Trump’s comments come after Democrat Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-NY) completely skipped over honoring Ginsburg in his initial statement following her death, and instead jumped straight into politics.

In his first tweet on Ginsburg’s passing, Schumer wrote: “The American people should have a voice in the selection of their next Supreme Court Justice. Therefore, this vacancy should not be filled until we have a new president.”

Schumer’s tweet was a quote of a statement made by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) following the passing of Justice Antonin Scalia in 2016.

Trump later tweeted out the following statement on Ginsburg’s passing:

After finishing up a campaign rally in Bemidji, Minnesota, President Donald Trump reacted with sadness to the news of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg passing away, saying that he hadn’t heard about it, but that she “led an amazing life.”

“Wow, I didn’t know that. You’re telling me now for the first time,” said Trump, who was standing on an airplane tarmac. “She led an amazing life. What else can you say? She was an amazing woman—whether you agreed or not—she was an amazing woman who led an amazing life.”

“I’m actually sad to hear that. I am sad to hear that,” said the president.

Trump’s reaction was captured on a video later posted by C-Span on Twitter.

Ginsburg died on Friday at the age of 87 due to complications from metastatic pancreatic cancer, the Supreme Court said in a statement late Friday evening.

Upon the news breaking, Republican lawmakers released statements reacting similarly to the president, calling attention to the Supreme Court justice’s trailblazing life.

“Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was a trailblazer who served the Supreme Court—and the country—faithfully for 27 years. My prayers go out to her family during this time,” said House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA).

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) also released a statement honoring Ginsburg’s life, which he called “extraordinary” for the number of personal and professional challenges she overcame. He added: “Her intelligence and determination earned her respect and admiration throughout the legal world, and indeed throughout the entire nation, which now grieves alongside her family, friends, and colleagues.”

McConnell also vowed to bring a Supreme Court nominee of Trump’s up for a vote. Although the White House has not released a statement as of publication indicating that Trump will nominate anyone, ABC News reports, citing multiple sources, that the White House will nominate someone to the Supreme Court in the coming days.

The ABC News report was published prior to Trump’s remarks saying that he had not yet heard of the justice’s passing.

Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick blasted the National Football League on the league’s opening Sunday, calling the NFL’s new social justice focus “propaganda” because Eric Reid, one of the first players to support Kaepernick’s anti-racism kneeling protests, remains unsigned after being let go by the Carolina Panthers back in March.

The NFL announced earlier this year that in the wake of massive anti-racism and anti-police brutality protests that took place in nearly every major city following the death of George Floyd, who died in the custody of the Minneapolis Police Department, they would set a weekly social justice priority, embrace Black Lives Matter slogans, and encourage its players to take part in demonstrations, service projects, and social justice-focused initiatives.

The NFL also committed to playing “Lift Every Voice,” the “black national anthem” before some games during opening week.

None of that matters, Kaepernick said Sunday, if Reid, his former teammate and vocal supporter, remains “blacklisted.”

While the NFL runs propaganda about how they care about Black Life, they are still actively blackballing Eric Reid (@E_Reid35) for fighting for the Black community. Eric set 2 franchise records last year, and is one of the best defensive players in the league,” Kaepernick tweeted just as many of the NFL’s Sunday games were kicking off.

“He played and started all 16 games for the Carolina Panthers last season. He recorded 130 tackles and four sacks. He joined the Panthers a few weeks into the 2018 season. He recorded 71 tackles and an interception in that season.”

Reid was the first player to take part in Kaepernick’s kneeling protest, and when Kaepernick remained unsigned following his decision to turn down a one-year contract extension with the San Francisco 49ers, he co-signed a grievance against the NFL claiming that Kaepernick and players who supported his social justice efforts were being blacklisted from the league.

Kaepernick claimed that the owners were conspiring with each other — and even allegedly with President Donald Trump — to lock him out of playing again in the NFL.

The pair eventually settled. Reid went on to play for the Panthers, but Kaepernick went unsigned. He has now been out of the league since the 2017 season and, despite efforts on the part of NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, remains out of the league.

“I would love to see him in the National Football League, I know there’s tons of fans who would love to see him in the National Football League but where Colin sits right now in America is where he is playing football or not, he started a conversation on a national level,” Goodell said in an interview last week. He did say, however, that Kaepernick “isn’t currently part of the conversation from within the league.”

Reid told Deadspin last week that there has been some interest: “My agents have been in communications with teams daily, but there have been no developments.”

TOTO: ‘Broken Hearts Gallery’ Proves Rom-Coms Aren’t Dead Yet

There’s life left in the rom-com template, even if Hollywood pushed most of these romances off to streaming services.

Case in point: “The Broken Hearts Gallery,” a rom-com checking all the genre boxes sans apology.

  • The wacky/supportive best friends
  • The singular gimmick which brings the couple together
  • The meet cute moment
  • It’s set in, where else, New York City
  • That third act wrinkle that forces the lovers apart

And, of course, the usual array of woke nods to let you know it’s a 2020 feature film. Sigh.

Geraldine Viswanathan is Lucy, a 20-something who just got dumped—and lost her job—in one cruel stroke. She shares her fate with what she thinks is a very patient Uber driver. Turns out it’s just a random stranger with a sympathetic ear.

Meet cute alert—with a dash of creepy!

That’s Nick (“Stranger Things” mullet head Dacre Montgomery), a budding entrepreneur trying to recreate the New York facade he fell for years earlier. They clumsily team up to work on Nick’s project, with Lucy contributing what could be its social media salvation—a gallery dedicated to the junk that lovers save when their relationships collapse.

It’s enough of a gimmick to hang a movie romance on, especially given previous, excruciating examples (“How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days,” anyone?) Still, it’s weak tea dramatically speaking, and the concept only comes alive with subsequent video testimonials.

The “gallery” coaxes Lucy and Nick to spend every waking moment together. So when are they gonna kiss already?

Writer/director Natalie Krinsky (“Gossip Girls”) writes banter that’s almost up to the task at hand. That means the jokes are cute but not terribly funny. Much worse? Lucy is a brat in the first act, a prototypical Millennial with all the self-entitlement that demographic conjures. It’s a testament to Viswanathan that we eventually rally to her side, even as her larger than life shtick grates on us.

Montgomery has an easier task, letting his quiet charisma and signature brooding carry his character.

Of course Lucy and Nick have best friends to cheer them on. For Lucy, it’s a pair of roommates who ladle on empowerment like an Italian grandma pushing seconds on her famous lasagna. Nick’s best bud (Arturo Castro) deserves more screen time, if only because Nick’s back story is hopelessly blurred.

There’s a forced detour to meet Lucy’s mother, and a dramatic hurdle that could be explained away in a heartbeat, a la “Three’s Company.” Still, we’re adhering to the strict Rom-Com FormulaTM. Complaining about such moments is like whining that a horror movie character makes a bone-headed decision.

This being a Hollywood product circa 2020, the movie serves up some eye-roll moments for the unwoke crowd. One character delivers a love poem to … President Barack Obama. A street poll taker champions “reproductive rights.”

The micro-moments take you right out of the story. They can’t derail the romance under way.

Love conquers all, even on the big screen.

HiT or Miss: “The Broken Hearts Gallery” starts with a whimper, but the endearing leads and adherence to rom-com norms will win you over.

Retailer Lululemon Mocked For Urging Customers To ‘Resist Capitalism’ While Selling $120 Leggings

Luxury “athleisure” brand Lululemon is under fire for suggesting customers and social media followers “resist capitalism,” participating in a workshop given by one of the brand’s top Instagram influencers.

The Canadian brand, popular among higher-income American women, mostly sells workout wear and comfortable, yet stylish, clothing items, regularly priced between around $38 (for a basic workout tank top) and $500 for a styled parka. Their best-selling items, though, are likely their leggings, which retail between $88 and $300, depending on style, fabric, and quality.

The average price for a pair of Lululemon leggings is around $128 — a difficult point for a company pressing for its own customers to “unveil historical erasure and resist capitalism,” according to an Instagram post on its official account from one of its key affiliates. The brand itself is worth a reported $40 billion and rising as Americans increasingly turn to comfortable daily clothing amidst pandemic-related lockdowns and stay-at-home orders.

“Lululemon, known for its £128 yoga leggings, is facing mockery on social media for promoting an event about ‘decolonising gender’ and how to ‘resist capitalism,'” the BBC reported late last week. “The event was featured in an Instagram post in which Lululemon recommended other accounts to follow, including the host of the workshop, Rebby Kern. The yoga instructor is a US-based brand ambassador for the firm.”

Social media users quickly let Lululemon have it.

“Lululemon IS capitalism,” one conservative scholar noted. “It is literally a privately owned corporation that raked in half a billion dollars in pure profits last year, merely by selling overpriced yoga pants to women willing and able to pay for this luxury.”

The criticism wasn’t limited to right-leaning Twitter users. One self-described liberal tweeted, “OMG. I’m tired of the hypocrisy. Lululemon’s yoga pants cost $150 and you are telling me to resist capitalism?”

Others suggested that consumers “resist capitalism” by “not purchasing Lululemon goods” or encouraging the brand to give away its leggings for free to prove it is committed to undoing the prevailing economic system.

“What do you think your entire business is predicated off of? I don’t see you giving away pants for free…or even selling them at an affordable cost. Also what are you doing with the profits?” one highly cited user suggested.

Reeling from the backlash, Lululemon insisted that the event did not represent the company’s beliefs on the subject of economic policy.

“We recently shared on our social channels an upcoming event organized by one of our ambassadors. This is not a Lululemon forum and it does not represent the company’s views,” the brand’s spokesperson told media.

Oddly enough, “woke” Lululemon has been accused of racism. Back in April, the brand was forced to apologize after one of its art directors made a social media post linking to a tee shirt featuring the words, “Bat Fried Rice,” an allusion to what was, at the time, the suspected origin of the novel coronavirus.

Business Insider also notes that the brand’s founder reportedly chose the name “Lululemon” because it was difficult for Japanese consumers to say.

“It was thought that a Japanese marketing firm would not try to create a North American sounding brand with the letter ‘L’ because the sound does not exist in Japanese phonetics,” the founder said in an interview in 2009. “By including an ‘L’ in the name it was thought the Japanese consumer would find the name innately North American and authentic.”

Biden On L.A. Cops Being Shot: ‘Violence Of Any Kind Is Wrong’

On Sunday morning, following the cold-blooded ambush in which two Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies were shot in the head as they sat in their patrol car, Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden studiously avoided ascribing the brutal act to the possible mentality of viewing the police as “systemically racist,” a charge he made specifically at least once.

Instead, Biden tweeted, “Violence of any kind is wrong; those who commit it should be caught and punished.”

This cold-blooded shooting is unconscionable and the perpetrator must be brought to justice.

Biden has not been reticent to call the police systemically racist; in June, CBS News’ Norah O’Donnell asked him, “Do you believe there is systemic racism in law enforcement?”

“Absolutely,” Biden responded. “But it’s not just in law enforcement, it’s across the board. It’s in housing, it’s in education, and it’s in everything we do. It’s real. It’s genuine. It’s serious. And it is — it is able to be dealt with. Look, not all law enforcement officers are racist; my lord, there are some really good, good cops out there. But the way in which it works right now is we’ve seen too many examples of it.”

After the shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Biden issued a statement in late August in which he again accused police of systemic racism, writing:

Yesterday in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Jacob Blake was shot seven times in the back as police attempted to restrain him from getting into his car. His children watched from inside the car and bystanders watched in disbelief. And this morning, the nation wakes up yet again with grief and outrage that yet another Black American is a victim of excessive force. This calls for an immediate, full and transparent investigation and the officers must be held accountable.

These shots pierce the soul of our nation. Jill and I pray for Jacob’s recovery and for his children.

Equal justice has not been real for Black Americans and so many others. We are at an inflection point. We must dismantle systemic racism. It is the urgent task before us. We must fight to honor the ideals laid in the original American promise, which we are yet to attain: That all men and women are created equal, but more importantly that they must be treated equally.

Biden gave a speech on September 3 in which he once again condemned President Trump for his remarks after the 2017 Charlottesville rally, misrepresenting Trump as defending white supremacists. Biden stated:

And I hadn’t planned on running for anything again after my son had died. I was a professor at college and running another program at another college. Until I saw those people coming out of Charlottesville, carrying torches, literally torches coming out of the fields. Close your eyes. Remember what you saw on television. Their veins bulging, their [hate-filled] speech, chanting the same anti-Semitic bile that was chanted in the streets of Germany in the 30s. On top of that, accompanied by white supremacists, Ku Klux Klan. A young woman was killed protesting those folks.

And the President of United States was asked, he was asked, “What do you think?” And he said something no president’s ever, ever said. He said, “There are very fine people on both sides.” No president has ever said anything like that. The generic point I’m making is—not all his fault, but it legitimizes. It legitimizes the dark side of human nature.

Biden then stated that the institutionalized “underlying racism” in the United States had led to the Kenosha shooting: “And what it did though, it also exposed what had not been paid enough attention to, the underlying racism that is institutionalized in the United States still exists, has existed for 400 years. So what’s happened is that we end up in a circumstance like you had here in Kenosha and have here in Kenosha.”

Candace Owens Calls Out LeBron James, BLM For Anti-Cop Rhetoric After L.A. Sheriff Ambush

On Sunday, conservative commentator Candace Owens ripped into celebrities like LeBron James and radical left-wing Black Lives Matter activists for their “racist,” “anti-cop” rhetoric in light of the ambush on two Los Angeles sheriff’s deputies on Saturday night.

Owens blasted “pea-brained” James for tweets he posted back in May that said black men in the United States are “literally hunted” every time they leave their homes.

“Why does this happen?” posted Owens. “Because pea-brained celebrities that are idolized like [LeBron James] tell young black men that they are ‘literally being hunted.’ This is the natural result of such hyperbolic, dishonest rhetoric.”

“Why else does this happen?” Owens continued in a follow-up tweet. “Because when pea-brained athletes put the name of an alleged RAPIST on their helmets and jerseys, criminals begin believing they are acting as heroes.”

Owens’ tweet seemingly referred to Jacob Blake, a black man shot by police last month during an attempted arrest in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Blake was accused of sexually assaulting and terrorizing his ex-girlfriend and was charged on July 6 with multiple offenses in relation to the woman.

“BLACK LIVES MATTER AND THE COMPLICIT MEDIA ORGANIZATIONS, ATHLETES, AND ENTERTAINERS ARE TO BLAME,” Owens wrote in all capital letters.

The two sheriff’s deputies — a 31-year-old female and a 24-year-old male — were shot in an ambush-style unprovoked attack, authorities say. “The pair were sitting in their parked vehicle outside of a train station when they were approached by a suspect who opened fire without apparent cause, leaving the two deputies severely wounded,” The Daily Wire reported.

Following the ambush, the deputies were taken by ambulance to a local hospital. As the pair were undergoing emergency surgery, alleged Black Lives Matter protesters moved to block hospital entrances and exits and reportedly shouted that they wanted the deputies to die. The protesters also, news reports note, tried to storm the hospital’s emergency department.

The Twitter account for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department posted: “To the protesters blocking the entrance & exit of the HOSPITAL EMERGENCY ROOM yelling ‘We hope they die’ referring to 2 LA Sheriff’s ambushed today in #Compton: DO NOT BLOCK EMERGENCY ENTRIES & EXITS TO THE HOSPITAL. People’s lives are at stake when ambulances can’t get through.”

During the altercation, a number of the protesters were arrested, as was one NPR reporter who was “interfering” with cops.

“After deputies issued a dispersal order for the unlawful assembly of a group of protesters blocking the hospital emergency entrance & exits, a male adult protester refused to comply & cooperate,” L.A. County Sheriffs tweeted, as noted by The Daily Wire. “During his arrest, a struggle ensued at which time a female adult ran towards the deputies, ignored repeated commands to stay back as they struggled with the male and interfered with the arrest.”

“The female adult, who was later identified as a member of the press, did not identify herself as press and later admitted she did not have proper press credentials on her person. Both individuals have been arrested for 148 P.C.,” another tweet said.

Nine BLM Protesters Cited For ‘Trespassing’ On McCloskey Property In St. Louis, Couple Suspects ‘There Won’t Be Any Charges’

Following an investigation into whether Black Lives Matter protesters, targeting the St. Louis mayor’s residence, had threatened Mark and Patricia McCloskey — a couple that went viral after being pictured defending their home with guns — nine BLM protesters were cited for “trespassing” and the couple suspects that’s the end of any charges.

The McCloskeys told Fox & Friends Weekend that protesters, who allegedly broke through a wrought iron fence protecting the McCloskey’s gated neighborhood, were given “municipal-type tickets” and that they don’t anticipate St. Louis prosecutors will push the matter any further, even though the McCloskeys are being prosecuted for defending their home.

“These are just tickets, they’re municipal type tickets,” Patricia McCloskey told the network Sunday. “Nine of three to five hundred people, I don’t know how they chose those nine people. I suspect there won’t be any charges even for these nine people.”

“The mob outside my house was chanting, ‘You can’t stop the revolution,’” Mark McCloskey added, connecting the incident that happened outside their home to an ambush attack on two Los Angeles County Sheriffs deputies that took place Saturday night, leaving the two deputies seriously wounded. “What’s the definition of a revolution? The violent overthrow of government. And do we see that happening all over the country? And who’s stopping it? The Democrat-run cities, they’re encouraging it. They’re asking the public to engage in violence and stuff like this happens. This isn’t a coincidence.”

St. Louis prosecutors pledged to investigate the incident and determine whether protesters should be charged for marching through McCloskey’s neighborhood on their way to St. Louis mayor Lyda Krewson’s home, located deeper in the same neighborhood. In videos that went viral at the time, protesters are seen interacting with the McCloskeys who exited their home armed with a handgun and a rifle. Some of the protesters appear to cross onto the McCloskeys’ lawn and yell back to the armed pair.

Before any charges could be issued against protesters, however, St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kimberly Gardner charged the McCloskeys with “unlawful use of a weapon,” per CNN.

“It is illegal to wave weapons in a threatening manner at those participating in nonviolent protest, and while we are fortunate this situation did not escalate into deadly force, this type of conduct is unacceptable in St. Louis,” Gardner said at the time.

The President, Missouri’s Republican Senator Josh Hawley, the Missouri Attorney General, and others have weighed in on the McCloskeys’ side.

“Dozens of violent criminals go free but homeowners facing trespassers on their own property are prosecuted. All the more reason for a SEARCHING Justice Dept investigation of the Circuit Attorney’s Office,” Hawley tweeted.

The McCloskeys told Fox News that they believe an official indictment against them will be handed down soon: “Patricia McCloskey said they’re expecting their indictment before Oct. 4.”

‘NOW I CAN BE REALLY VICIOUS’: Trump Blasts Biden Over ‘False And Misleading’ Atlantic Ad

President Trump on Saturday ripped Joe Biden for a campaign ad that cites a magazine’s report quoting anonymous sources who claim Trump disparaged dead American soldiers but said there is a silver lining: “Now I can be really vicious.”

“Pathetic Joe. He’s a pathetic human being to allow that to happen,” Trump said of the ad Biden’s campaign released last week.

“There’s nobody who loves our military, respects them more than me. There were 25 witnesses on the record that said it never happened,” Trump said, citing former and current staff members who said he never called dead soldiers “suckers” and “losers.” “They’re a disgrace, but you know the good part?” Trump said. “Now I can be really vicious. Once I saw that ad, I don’t have to be nice anymore.”

The president also claimed Biden, “doesn’t know he’s alive.” “Sleepy Joe Biden. You know where he is now? He’s in his damn basement again,” Trump said as the Nevada crowd of supporters laughed and cheered.

“Joe Biden cannot lead our country ’cause he doesn’t really believe in our country,” he said. “He is the worst candidate in the history of presidential politics.”

The Trump campaign last week issued a cease-and-desist letter to the Biden campaign demanding the Democratic presidential candidate stop airing the ad, which Trump’s team calls “false and misleading.”

“The Atlantic article and the False and Misleading Ad both rely upon statements allegedly made by anonymous sources who were directly contradicted on the record by twenty-one individuals present with President Trump that day,” Trump Campaign Senior Legal Adviser Jenna Ellis wrote. “Additionally, the contemporary facts in the Secret Service record totally debunk this fake story.”

“Mr. Biden and the Biden Campaign should immediately cease and desist using the False and Misleading Ad and issue a public apology to the millions of service members whose morale Mr. Biden is attempting to damage by posting the False and Misleading Ad in the first place. The False and Misleading Ad presents unsubstantiated quotes by President Trump allegedly made in connection with a canceled official visit to Aisne-Marne American Cemetery in France. As stated above, numerous individuals who were with President Trump have gone on the record denying that President Trump made any such statements,” the letter said.

“Given your inability to verify the anonymous statements and the unequivocal denials by identified individuals who confirm what the whole country already knows – that President Trump would never disparage the lives and scarifies made by our American Military Heroes and their families – and President Trump’s powerful record of supporting and honoring America’s veterans, we demand that Joe Biden and the Biden Campaign immediately cease and desist using the False and Misleading Ad. We also ask Twitter and Facebook to review and apply their community standards equally and fairly and remove entirely the False and Misleading Ad from their platforms,” Ellis wrote.
