In the midst of the largest immigrant flood on the southern border in recent history and President Joe Biden’s ineptitude in creating and dealing with the situation, some Arizona families are left trying to protect their families even when the federal government refuses to. Biden’s executive order to halt construction on the Trump administration’s border…

President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and their spouses have begun an ambitious, cross-country tour this week to highlight the benefits of his $1.9 trillion plan to defeat the coronavirus and boost the economy.

The road show, dubbed the “Help is Here” tour by the White House, began Monday with Harris heading to a COVID-19 vaccination site and a culinary academy in Las Vegas and first lady Jill Biden touring a New Jersey elementary school.

The president will have more to say about the plan Monday at the White House, and he is scheduled to visit a small business in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday. He and Harris are slated to appear together in Atlanta on Friday.

Air Force Two lifted off from Joint Base Andrews on Monday morning and headed west to Nevada, and Harris will also make a stop the following day in Denver to meet with small-business owners. Wednesday sees Jill Biden in Concord, New Hampshire, and Harris' husband, Doug Emhoff, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The stops at vaccination sites, businesses, schools and more are meant to educate the public about different aspects of the giant American Rescue Plan and how it will help people get to the other side of the coronavirus pandemic.

Biden Spokesperson Jen Psaki Blames Trump For Southern Border "Problems"

RealClear - Mon, 03/15/2021 - 18:05
WH press secretary Jen Psaki blamed the border migrant surge at the Mexican border (with illegal immigration, smuggling, and human trafficking) on the "previous administration" during Monday's press briefing. Q Thanks. Just two quick ones, Jen. Given how fast moving the situation has been, does the President believe that his administration has a handle on what's happening on the southern border right now? MS. PSAKI: We certainly do. And let me just give you a bit of an update on a couple of the steps that we're taking. You know, first, let me say that, like COVID -- obviously a different issue, but we recognize this is a big problem -- the last administration left us a dismantled and unworkable system. And like any other problem, we are going to do everything we can to solve it. So our focus here is on solutions. Let me just walk you through a couple of the steps -- and we've done this a little bit, but there's always, of course, developments on considerations that are underway. So, first, we've updated -- or we have not, but CDC has updated guidelines to return to full capacity. This will help expand capacity to move children more quickly out of CBP facilities. That's an important step. The implementation of that is of course ongoing. We are -- there has -- there is now an embedding, at the President's ask, of HHS and ORR with CBP, which will allow government to more quickly I.D., vet, confirm sponsors and family members of the unaccompanied minors and will lead to quicker placement. Because, as you know -- as all of you know, big issues here are expediting what's happening at the border. None of these Border Patrol facilities are made for children, and we want to move them as quickly as possible into shelters and then into homes. FEMA -- this was an announcement over the weekend -- is now supporting -- providing support at the border, adding extra capacity to HHS for quick processing to avoid overcrowding. This will hope -- we hope this will help quickly get children into HHS and ORR facilities, and placed with vetted sponsors and families. The President is very focused on expediting what's happening at the border at every step in the process. And then this happened on Friday, but it didn't receive a lot of -- there was a lot going on, so I just wanted to highlight: We rescinded the 2018 MOU between DHS and HHS, which we believe will encourage families and sponsors to come forward without fear of additional immigration enforcement. And we've seen this as an issue, where family members or even sponsor families are worried that this will mean they will be tracked. And this over- -- rescinds that. We're also looking for additional facilities, and this remains a focus. So, we recognize this as a problem. We're focused on addressing it. That's just five steps we're taking, and we're continuing to evaluate what additional steps can be taken to address the situation at the border.

FOX Reporter Peter Doocy To WH: Does Presence Of FEMA At The Border Imply There Is A "Disaster" Or Emergency?

RealClear - Mon, 03/15/2021 - 18:00
WH press secretary Jen Psaki was asked by Fox News reporter Peter Doocy whether FEMA's presence at the border means what's happening there is a "disaster" during Monday's press briefing. Q And then, on immigration, does FEMA's arrival at the border mean that the administration feels what is happening down at the border is a disaster? MS. PSAKI: I know that we always get into the fun of labels around here, but I would say our focus is on solutions. And this is one of the steps that the President felt would help not become a final solution, but help expedite processing; help ensure that people who are coming across the border are -- have access to health and medical care. Clearly, the numbers are enormous. This is a big challenge, and it certainly is a reflection of using every lever of the federal government to help address that. Q But FEMA, though, specifically -- their mission is helping people before, during, and after disasters. We've heard you say that it's a problem, that it's a challenge. Is it now a disaster? MS. PSAKI: I appreciate the opportunity. I do like your mask. But I will say that FEMA is there to help ensure that the people who are at the border, who are coming across the border, have access to -- can -- to HHS and ORR shelters; that we can swiftly place them with vetted families. They're playing a number of roles there to address what we feel is a significant problem and a significant challenge. And I think we haven't -- we haven't stepped -- been hiding about that. Q And then, just a quick, final one. DHS said that the FEMA plan for 90 days would be to receive, shelter, and transfer unaccompanied children. Does that mean that the federal government now is moving beyond the message from the last couple weeks, which was: Now is not the time to come? MS. PSAKI: No, we are -- we are -- we are doing both, and it's a complicated problem, no doubt about it. We are sending the message clearly in the region, Now is not the time to come. But also, we want to ensure that people are treated with humanity -- who are children, who are unaccompanied children. That's who we are as a country, and so we are doing both. FOX reports more:

Biden: American Rescue Plan Is Already Doing What It Was Designed To Do: Make A Difference In People's Everyday Lives

RealClear - Mon, 03/15/2021 - 17:41
President Biden hosted an event touting the American Rescue Plan, the newly passed COVID relief bill, Monday afternoon. THE PRESIDENT: Good afternoon. When I signed the American Rescue Plan last week, I said, Help is on the way. This week -- and I -- I can report -- this is just -- it's here, sooner than many ever thought possible. Over the next 10 days, we'll reach two goals -- two giant goals. The first is, 100 million shots in people's arms will have been completed within the next 10 days, and 100 million checks in people's pockets in the next 100 [10] days. Shots in arms and money in pockets -- that's important. The American Rescue Plan is already doing what it was designed to do: make a difference in people's everyday lives. And we're just getting started. By the time all the money is distributed, 85 percent of American households will have gotten a $1,400 rescue checks. To give more -- to give one more example: For the average family of two parents and two children making a combined income of $110,000 a year, that's going to add $5,600 for them -- $5,600 they'll get. And the plan does a lot more. It extends unemployment insurance for the 11 million Americans unemployed and any who will be unemployed in the near term. It will help hundreds of thousands of small businesses keep their doors open, which makes a gigantic difference in neighborhoods and communities. If you have a drugstore, if you have a -- a beauty shop, a hardware store, it's the center of small communities. And it gets our schools and -- resources they need to open safely. It provides the biggest investment in childcare since World War Two. And it provides food and nutrition help for the millions of families to keep them from going hungry, keeping a roof over their heads. And it expands healthcare coverage and lowers healthcare costs for so many people. And it will cut child poverty in half in this country. That's the estimate: Child poverty will be cut in half as a consequence of what's in this recovery act. And it will generate economic growth for the entire nation. That's why major economists -- left, right, and center -- support this plan. Even Wall Street has agreed. According to Moody's, by the end of this year, this law will spur our economy to create 7 million new jobs. And it does one more thing: It focuses on rebuilding the backbone of this country -- working families, the middle class, the people who built this country. But as I said last week, it's one thing to pass a historic piece of legislation like the American Rescue Plan, and it's quite another to implement it. And the devil is in the details. It requires fastidious oversight to make sure the relief arrives quickly, equitably, and efficiently with no waste or fraud in your bank account, in your mailbox, to the local business in your community and to your child's school. Look, I've been here before. When President Obama and I came into office in 2009, he put me in charge of implementing the Recovery Act, which helped us recover and rebuild during the Great Recession. I was authorized to put together a team, including an accountability board with inspectors general from different agencies that were affected by the act to make sure we got the roughly $800 billion out -- out and into the countryside, by the book and quickly, over 18 months. I talked to literally almost 100 -- over 150 mayors, all governors except one, constantly going over the granular detail of the implementation of this legislation -- that legislation. And the effort put us on a path from crisis to recovery to resurgence. Accordingly, to the oversight board that these -- of inspectors general -- they said we got it done with less than two tenths of 1 percent waste or fraud. And that's not what the previous administration did though. When the Congress, last year, passed the CARES Act, the CARES Act -- the Congress created a committee of inspectors general to make sure every penny of that money was spent as it was directed. But one of the first things the previous administration did was fire the head of the inspector general's committee. So when Congress passed what was intended to be a small business relief program, it instead became a free-for-all for well-connected companies. And mainstream -- mainstream businesses, from hardware stores to beauty salons, that needed the help most were left behind. Four hundred thousand are now gone. We will not let that happen this time. I learned from my experience implementing the Recovery Act just how important it is to have someone who can manage all the moving parts with efficiency, speed, and integrity, and accountability. That's the sort of management we've seen in our fight against the virus with Jeff Zients, our COVID Response Coordinator. And today, I'm pleased to announce and introduce another gifted manager to coordinate our implementation of the American Rescue Plan: Gene Sperling. Gene will be on the phone with mayors and governors -- red states, blue states. A source of constant communication, a source of guidance and support, and, above all, a source of accountability for all of us to get the job. Gene has been here before. The only person in history to serve as director of economic -- of the National Economic Council twice. He led successful efforts to deliver relief to small businesses and unemployed Americans in the Obama-Biden administration and in the Clinton administration. I spoke with Gene earlier today, alongside my economic team; he's ready to get to work. In fact, he's already hit the ground running. And together we're going to make sure that the benefits the American Rescue Plan go out quickly and directly to the American people, where they belong. Let me close with this: Help is here and hope is here in real and tangible ways. We're just days away from 100 million shots in millions -- in the arms of millions of Americans. That's the way. That's the way -- on the way to get every single American access to the vaccine. One hundred million checks going into the pockets -- and/or direct deposits -- going into the pockets of Americans, on the way to a million more -- millions of more Americans. That's real progress. But we have a lot more to do. We have to prove to the American people that their government can deliver for them, and do it without waste or fraud; that we can vaccinate the nation; that we can get our kids safely back in school; and we can get our economy back on track by helping hundreds of thousands of small businesses open and stay open; and that we can give people of this nation a fighting chance again with relief checks, lower childcare costs, lower healthcare costs, and so much more. That's our job. That's our responsibility. And in the process, we'll be growing the economy as well. We're going to have to stay on top of every dollar spent through the American Rescue Plan. And that's what we're going to do. We can do this. We will do this. God bless you all. Help us on the way. And may God protect our troops. Thank you very, very much. Q Should President Donald Trump help promote the vaccine among skeptics, sir, especially those Republicans who say they're not willing to take it? THE PRESIDENT: I'm hearing a lot of reports from serious reporters like you saying that. I discussed it with my team, and they say the thing that has more impact than anything Trump would say to the MAGA folks is what the local doctor, what the local preachers, what the local people in the community say. So I urge -- I urge all local docs and -- and ministers and priests and every -- to talk about why -- why it's important to get it -- to get that vaccine, and even after that, until everyone is in fact vaccinated, to wear this mask. Thank you very much. Thank you. 2:12 P.M. EDT

Stacey Abrams Wants Filibuster Exemption In Election Reform

Newsy - Mon, 03/15/2021 - 16:18

Stacey Abrams is calling for the Senate to make election reform legislation exempt from a filibuster.

Earlier this month, the House passed the bill, which is aimed at increasing voter turnout. It comes as Republicans in several states are working to make it harder for people to vote.

Abrams, a former candidate for Georgia governor, calls the efforts by the GOP a "redux of Jim Crow."

"It's not that there was a question of security. In fact, the secretary of state and the governor went to great pains to assure America that Georgia's elections were secure," she said. "So the only connection that we can find is that more people of color voted and it changed the outcome of elections in a direction that Republicans do not like."

The option for a filibuster has already been scaled back. It no longer applies to judicial or cabinet appointments and some budget measures.

Florida Gov. DeSantis Slams Biden Border Policy: ‘They’ve Created This Crisis – I Think That This Is Intentional’

LifeZette - Mon, 03/15/2021 - 15:40

On Sunday, rising Republican star and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis criticized the Biden administration’s immigration policies, which he believes have ’caused’ the current border crisis and are ‘intentional.’

DeSantis made his comments during an appearance on FNC’s “Justice” with host Judge Jeanine Pirro.

DeSantis: ‘I Think That This Is Intentional. I Think This Is Ideological’

DeSantis told Pirro that he believed the Biden administration was responsible for the ongoing crisis.

“It obviously is a disastrous change in policy, Judge,” he said. “If you look, Donald Trump had obviously the wall, which we all supported, but also safe third party agreements, as well as remain in Mexico.”

“And guess what happened? DeSantis added. “The border was under control.”

DeSantis also believes Biden’s border policies are “intentional” and “ideological.”

“So they’ve gone back on those policies, and they’ve created this crisis,” DeSantis said.

The governor added, “But I think that this is intentional. I think this is ideological. I think that they’re getting bit by this politically now. But I think that this was something that they absolutely anticipated.”

Beginning very early in his tenure, Biden made sweeping changes to existing immigration policy, as explained by Lawfare.

As DeSantis pointed out, Biden also ended President Trump’s emergency declaration, which stopped funding for the border wall, and ended “Remain in Mexico,” among many other immigration policy changes.

DeSantis Calls Biden’s Border Policies ‘Disastrous’

“So it’s a disastrous way to start an administration,” DeSantis continued. “I think most of the American people are going to be strongly opposed to this, and hopefully, they’ll reverse course.”

“You know, in Florida, though, we’re ready,” DeSantis said, touting his home state.

On Sunday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi described the surge of unaccompanied children arriving at the border as a “humanitarian crisis.”

Politico recently ran a piece titled, “Fears of a border crisis fuel tension in Congress”.

All the way back on February 7, the NYT ran a piece titled, “Migrant Families Force Biden to Confront New Border Crisis”.

DeSantis then noted who got it right and who got it wrong regarding border and immigration policy.

"Trump had it right at the border, Biden got it wrong." – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis-

“When I became Governor, we banned sanctuary cities, and we also did e-verify,” DeSantis said.

“And so that’s not going to work in Florida, and hopefully, we can do those policies nationwide at some point, but there, Biden is going in the absolute wrong direction.”

“Trump had it right at the border,” DeSantis ended. “Biden has got it wrong.”

On Sunday night Jim Hoft from The Gateway Pundit and Patty McMurray from 100% Fed Up spoke with Stewart Rhodes, the founder the O*th Keep*rs.

The Oath Keepers is a non-partisan association of current and formerly serving military, police, and first responders, who pledge to fulfill the oath all military and police take to “defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.”

The Oath Keepers have been in the news a lot lately since the protests on January 6th in Washington DC. The fake news mainstream media and the DOJ and FBI insisted early on that the “insurrection” at the US Capitol was led by the Oath Keepers and that the group plotted and organized a takeover of the US government on January 6th.

After weeks and weeks of media lies the entire media conspiracy about the Oath Keepers is falling apart.

Stewart Rhodes described that day in Washington DC. He explained the role of the Oath Keepers in providing security at the Ellipse and at associated rallies on January 5th in the nation’s capital.

**You can donate here to help fight the lawfare on patriots.

Stewart said the FBI is harassing Oath Keepers and knocking on their doors, adding, “The FBI is all about trying to put as many patriots in prison as they can. What is happening right now is a Stalinistic persecution campaign to suppress the opposition to the coup that is being done right now by the left in the country right now and by the deep state.”

The Oath Keepers founder had this to say about the mainstream media, “Our experience with mainstream media, they only want to pull out soundbites they can twist to their narratives. I’m done.
I’m done giving interviews with the leftist media.”

This was an amazing interview.

Kenneth Walker Sues Louisville Metro Police

Breonna Taylor's boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, is suing Louisville Police.

He was with Taylor when police shot and killed her during a raid at her home last year.

Walker shot at police because he thought they were intruders. Officers did not identify themselves when they entered her apartment.

Walker is claiming his Fourth Amendment rights were violated that night. That amendment prohibits unreasonable searches and seizures.

The suit also accuses officers of excessive force, of fabricating their report and unnecessarily carrying out the warrant at night.
